Grand Bentley than the teaser photos the British carmaker has provided. The British automobile publication’s spy photog came up with at least a half dozen photographs of the giant economy size Bentley. Well, not economy-sized unless you mean the economies of several third world countries we could name.
The photos, of which we’ve provided a teaser cropping of our own, show a very large sedan, said to be 30cm (almost a foot) longer than the already, um, sizeable Arnage, which measures 212 inches stem to stern. The New Grand Bentley, according to AutoCar, will not be offered in an extended length version. Of course not. The standard length version of the New Grand Bentley is longer than the current stretch Arnage.
As we recently mentioned, the New Grand Bentley will have a 6.75-liter V-8 rated at 550 hp which AutoCar believes should be sufficient to bully the big square-rigged Bentley to 200 mph. We can only imagine the tires that would require, not to mention the shockwave that formal Bentley grille would make, wailing by at double the ton.
We’ll get a full unfettered look at the New Grand Bentley—Bentley won’t confirm a name but AutoCar is calling it the Arnage—on August 16 when the big sedan (or saloon, if you will) debuts at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance in Pebble. Watch this space. And for the AutoCar article,
